After machining on slides, a finish is applied to protect the metal from corrosion. We offer Cerakote and Cerakote Elite coatings for slides and frames, and PVD coatings for pistol barrels and many pistol slides.

Cerakote & Cerakote Elite Coatings:

We offer Cerakote & Cerakote Elite firearm coatings on slides and frames.  Cerakote & Cerakote Elite coatings are not a paint, they are a Polymer-Ceramic coating that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood.  Cerakote & Cerakote Elite come in a wide range of colors and can be applied in a solid color, camo pattern, distressed pattern, stars & stripes, etc.  We do not offer Cerakote or Cerakote Elite on pistol barrels as the forces in effect while firing a handgun will strip the Cerakote or Cerakote Elite off of the barrel.  Check out Cerakote’s website for more information.

PVD Coatings:

PVD coatings are our most durable, longest lasting coatings. These are industrial coatings we use on our carbide cutting tools as well as specialty applications. PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition and is applied to the surface of the metal through a heated vacuum chamber. Our coatings are industrial coatings, which are thicker and more durable than some companies advertising PVD coatings that are decorative. These coatings have a low friction coefficient which acts as a self-lubricating property. Unlike Cerakote, the more you use it, the better it performs. We offer PVD in the following: AlTiN (dark charcoal), Hardmill (bronze), TiN (gold), CrN (silver), & Blue Chameleon. PVD coatings can be applied to most ferrous metals. We offer it on pistol barrels and select brands of pistol slides. We do not offer PVD on any aluminum items.
