After machining on slides, a finish is applied to protect the metal from corrosion. We offer Cerakote and Cerakote Elite coatings for slides and frames.
Cerakote & Cerakote Elite Coatings:
We offer Cerakote H Series & Cerakote Elite firearm coatings on slides and frames. Cerakote H Series & Cerakote Elite coatings are not a paint, they are a Polymer-Ceramic coating that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood. Cerakote H Series & Cerakote Elite come in a wide range of colors and can be applied in a solid color, camo pattern, distressed pattern, stars & stripes, etc. We do not offer Cerakote H Series or Cerakote Elite on pistol barrels as the forces in effect while firing a handgun will strip the Cerakote H Series or Cerakote Elite off of the barrel. Check out Cerakote’s website for more information.
- PVD coatings are our most durable, longest lasting coatings. These are industrial coatings we use on our carbide cutting tools, as well as on specialty applications. PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition and is applied to the surface of the metal through a heated vacuum chamber.
- These coatings have a low friction coefficient which acts as a self-lubricating property, which helps it hold up well to heat and holster wear. Because PVD coatings are so thin, they don’t add any measurable thickness, so a PVD coating will not negatively affect performance. Unlike Cerakote coatings, the more you use PVD coated parts, the better they perform.
- PVD coatings come in a range of colors, including Dark Charcoal, Bronze, Gold, Silver, & Blue Chameleon.
- We ONLY offer PVD coatings on pistol barrels as part of a Recrowning package, and pistol slides that are NOT Smith & Wesson brand. We do not offer PVD coatings on ANY small parts, triggers, internals, 1911 small parts, etc.
